Certification and membership

ukas_larg ISO 28007 was incepted by the International Maritime Organisation (IMO), the specialised Maritime agency of the United Nations with responsibility for the safety and security of shipping at sea, in May 2012. The IMO appointed ISO (International Standards Organisation) to investigate the possibility of drafting a Maritime Security Standard.

In November 2012, at the Maritime Security Council (MSC) 91 accepted ISO 28007 as being the preferred method of oversight that it would use to regulate Maritime Security Companies.

Bimco Membership of BIMCO, combined with ISO PAS 28007 certification, means that clients can rest assured that Akula Yachts is able to conduct operations safely and has the necessary internal governance in place.

icoc ICoC: Intenational Code of Conduct

The International Code of Conduct for Private Security Providers (ICoC) is a multi- stakeholder initiative convened by the Swiss government. It aims to set private security industry principles and standards based on international human rights and humanitarian law, as well as improve accountability of the industry by establishing an external independent oversight mechanism.


panama maritime authority The Panama Maritime Authority has recognized Akula Yachts (Through Citadel-Maritime) as a Private Maritime Security Company () who are authorized to grant the use of security, armed or unarmed personnel onboard the Panamanian flag vessels to transit exclusively in High Risk Areas
